As a woman who has experienced years of verbal, emotional, mental, and physical abuse, I want to reach out to other women and men who are experiencing this life-threatening problem. Please tell me what you need most, or any questions you have that I can answer to get you out of your current situation.
I used to hear that "No one will ever put up with you. I'm the only one who wants you."
This is NOT true. It is manipulation to attack your self esteem and make you feel dependent upon your abuser. Do NOT believe this for ONE second.

It does NOT matter if you are heavy, thin, beautiful, average looking...none of that matters! You are a beautiful human being from the inside and outside!
Only YOU control how you want to feel about yourself. NOT what someone says about you. Don't fall for their manipulations. This is due to their OWN insecurities, which you are not responsible for fixing.
You must take care of you first. Only then can you take care of anyone else. Start seeing that beautiful person. There is an entire world out there of people who WILL love you!
I know your self esteem and personal well being is suffering tremendously.

God made us ALL beautiful people, who have been given our own lives to live as WE choose.

I watched the Diane Sawyer video and,once more,was appalled that another victim did not leave her attacker and suffered multiple beatings before she woke up to the realization that she had a choice.
Every day a person wakes up with the right to choose. We choose our toothpaste, what to eat for breakfast, what to watch on T.V. and who we allow into our lives.
Wake up,abused PERSONS, use your God Given Right to choose who you want to be and how you want to be treated.
Give yourself what you "deserve", not the evil that is meted out to you by those who don't "deserve you".
I have been where you are and made my choice to leave, I have been ridiculed by family and friends who didn't understand why I couldn't make a "go" of it for familys' sake.
I asked the priest who officiated at our wedding if he could help me by meeting with my husband and he said to go home and work it out.
I know how difficult it is to leave and start over, especially when there are children. You will find a way, you will survive.
There are so many more avenues open to abused persons now than when I was having my "problems".
This web site is wonderful and I, personally, know the caring young woman who started it. She was there in the car with me when we ran away.
